National Express/Daily Mirro £1 tickets

Not sure whether this is the right place to post this but after some help with the £1 ticket offer as I've never done or needed to do it before now. I've just seen the offer in the moneysaving email. I need to go from Chester to London on Tuesday 6th March and return the following day. I clicked on the link, registered etc and put in the details of my journey. I clicked the option where it said £1 tickets available - pressed continue and the price was way over £60.
Any clues as to how I can get the offer please?

The special offer journeys are few and far between I'm afraid.
Doesn't look like your journey is one of them.
If youre over 60 you can buy a coach card for £10, saves you 1/3 off any journey for a year.
Have you researche train fares or Megabusmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
14 years to go for that offer- but thanks. I have reserached the trains and found fares for £12 each way with Virgin if I book now. I also have to go on the Saturday before and return on the Sunday. It's for the olympic trials at the new pool. My son has qualified
(that is he has qualifying times for his age - he won't qualify for the olympics) and we have to fund both trips. There will be 3 of us travelling on the SAturday so I've decided to drive. But on the Tuesday there will just be the two of us. Desperately trying to keep the costs down. The costs of two children swimming every year is astronomical. It's no wonder this country doesn't excel at sport. I'm a single parent and it takes every penny but I wouldn't want him to miss this opportunity. anyway - that's another story.

I have looked on the website for the £1 tickets & they are timetabled at 7.30/8.30 am & very late at night. Not much use to me.0

That would suit me. How did you narrow it down to actually getting the £1 tickets please?0

I was looking at London-Liverpool. It seems that all the Friday night and Sunday night services are normal "funfare" prices (ie, £10 with the booking fee). Not that great when the trains is 3.5 hours quicker and only costs £12 each way...0
