Debit Card Protection

We have recently received a renewal notice from Barclays for a Barclays Connect card. The certificate of insurance says that the protection has been in force since 1996.
I have no recollection of ever been advised that this was going to happen.
Although we still hold all our accounts with Barclays, this connect card is the only card that holds this protection (although we do not have this card!!!).
Do you know if we can reclaim the card protection?

If you have paid the ppi and have reasons for mis sell,go for it.
This will be a monthly payment on your statement,so dont use "i did not know i had it" as a reason for mis sell0 -
Barclays Connect is a debit card.
What does it cost and what does it protect against?0
