Mark S.
You will show up on your credit file as an arrangement to pay, it aint as bad as a default, but other lenders will know that you had trouble to pay in past.
None of my buisness, but, do you have any other creditors elsewhere?!? And have you done a budget planner with your I&E details? If so do you have a postive MDI as!!!
(I DIDN'T TELL YOU THIS)
Barclays do a Resolve Loan for people in collections, you pay exactly the same APR or Lower, but the repayments are lower (the loan is extended). Reason why I tell you this, is because I've dealt with people who were paying 10% on their loan, then got a resolve at 2.5%. This is a brand new thing they're trying as they want money back, but much rather get all captial and some interest than have you go into an IVA etc. So if you have a MDI (Monthly Disposable Income) of £40 or more, then call Barclays again on 0845 300 1592 and say "I've been to Payplan and I've done an I&E but want to try and work out with the bank". Then they'll do a DICE on you with your I&E details u give over phone and would see if a Resolve loan can be offered - this may be a better option, as you get no arrangement to pay on file and the loan is still intact.!.0 -
MarkS wrote:what the hell has that got do with you  . I have been with Barclays for 11 years and with the Alliance & leicester for over 4. For you information not that its any of your business had an offer at the time which was more attractive than the rates Barclays where giving what are you a saint, I told you before you want to preach find a soapbox I'm not interested if you cant offer anything worth while.
MarkS Reading your first post I had every sympathy for you as my reply indicated.
However with each of your subsequent postings a little more of the real story unravels. You can be as mad as you like but the facts are you decided to 'resign' from a well paid job even though you could have taken sick leave, you took out loans with no protection and now you want somebody else to help you sort out the mess of your own making.0 -

First of all SparciaM massive thanks for the information.the only things that I owe on is my mortgage and this loan, luckily I have used some of my savings to keep the mortgage afloat. Yes a expenses breakdown was initially done but Barclays are still insisting on getting the paperwork that is being sent to me by Payplan. Infact I spoke to both parties today and Barclays have said that the phone calls will stop for 2 weeks in order to give me time to send the paperwork to them.
Second of all ejones999 im not after sympathy the reason that I had to resign from my job was that after 5 years of mis-diagnosis by my GPs and work sending me to occupational health time after time and being also being mis-diagnosed by them and furthermore my so-called managers putting pressure on me to get back to work as they believed that there was nothing wrong with me, I have now HAD to resign as I eventually got my wish which was an MRI scan which showed 2 slipped discs along with torn ligaments OH and to top it off as this was mis-diagnosed for so long my lower back muscles have decided to grow in such a way that my pelvis is now 10 degrees of centre....you ask why I resigned from a good job? well try taking 24-26 pills daily and still not being able to walk properly with screaming at times!!!!! You have some tact there dont you.....jesus christ I pray for people like you :money:
Oh one more thing I was on sick leave already by this point for 6 months and once work found out my MRI results guess what...have you heard of constructive dismissal? ... have you heard of jumping rather than being pushed?? :T :wall:0 -

jesus christ are you related to anyone on this thread?
I COULD BLOODY WELL AFFORD THE LOAN WHEN I TOOK IT OUT OTHERWISE I WOULDN'T OFF :rotfl:
do you think that I would have taken it out if I knew I would have to have surgery on my spine in the near future??? :j0 -
Silly boy! Have you not heard of unfair dismissal?? Not many employers can sack you these days purely because you are ill.
You would have got a lump sum compensation which I 'm sure would have helped you pay your debts now.
Why were you afraid of being pushed? Had you done anything wrong?
Come to think of it you may have had a claim against your employers for mis-diagnosing your condition.
Lastly your post brings out more of the story that we had no idea of before so how were we to know (about the pills and pain etc)?0 -

OK here we go again....
yes i have heard of unfair dismissal...do you realise how difficult this is to prove against an employer...not only this but how many companies will take this on when you have no funds to pay for a solictor....answer NONE!!! been there tried that got the same answer...no money...no solicitor!!
employers can sack you for being ill all they have to do is prove that you can no longer fulfill the duties you where initially employed to do...then they state that they have no other positions to accomodate you and your disability...the result is dismissal, or however you want to phrase this - I know of this as fact as on several occassions this has happened to colleagues that I have worked with.
afraid of being pushed?? yes....as this was always going to be on the cards once work found out my results of the MRI.
you state you knew nothing about my condition??
well I tell you what scroll up/down to my first post does it or does it not say that I have had to resign due to slipped discs? and not only that but YOU WHERE THE FIRST TO REPLY TO IT
now where do you want to go from here? more grief my way or are you done yet?0 -
Mark, I won't comment further on what has been said as I pretty much agree with all the above.
Just add welcome, as I've not seen you on here before. You seem quite upset at the advice/questioning but please remember folk are only trying to help (Its what most of us spend time on here for) and do need to know the facts before doing so....0 -
Well if you really want me to put the knife in go back to post #15 where you say that you had been misdiagnosed by your doctor for 5 years so when did you take out the loan?
Did you take out the loan knowing that you may have to take time off sick?
I have posted enough on this now; as you and I are never going to agree.
You wanted to know whether any loan/mortgage benefit would be payable to you.
I would say not as you resigned from your job and therefore you are disqualified from most benefits for 6 months.
Good luck with your treatment.0 -
Just wondered as you worked in the Emergency Services. Could you not have taken early retirement on ill health grounds? Do you have a pension to look forward to?0
