Can I reclaim now?

Hi All
I tried to reclaim against Alliance and Leicester a few years ago as they stung me for £4-5K of charges in 13 months. Unfortunately it was after the ruling and I was not classed as in financial hardship so my claim was rejected (and the Ombudsman also said I had no case).
I am now in financial hardship and seeking help from CCCS (called last night and got my first proper call with a debt counsellor next Weds), so I wondered if I would be able to reopen my case against A&L and try to relcaim the charges now?
Any advice would be gratefully received, and if I can do it then it would turn my situation right round (NEVER to be repeated!)
Many thanks

You can ask them to look again at your current and more recent charges but they dont have to consider historic ones. Some banks only look at the last 6 months.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I thought you could go back 6 years? We have since closed our account with them so don't have any recent charges. They were all incurred about 4-5 years ago.

So the charges are not related to your current financial hardship. Therefore you dont meet criteria. You can still ask but the odds are very low.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
