Ive bought a new Dell desktop for my son which came with Vista Basic and IE7.
But it's SO slow. I knew it wouldnt be fast as it was £400 (1GB memory and not a duo processor).
I think I need to turn off some programs, but I cant find RUN to type msconfig, then Startup.
Can anyone offer any suggestions please?
He uses it to download music, go on msn, and internet. It's got McAfee on a trial I think, and I think it would be better to get Zonealarm and AVG free as I have these with no problems on my other computer. But Im a bit lost where to start.

It works fine for me, Vista premium,
As far as accessing msconfig, just click on the start button, and in the search bar at the bottom type it in and that will open it for youI have nothing better to do!!!!

All drivers i have installed have worked.
Although some discs i put in say it only runs with xp etc i just explore the contents and run the programs within it.0 -
