When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Hi guys :hello:

Thought I'd quickly start us off...

My listaroo:
  • Brekkie at home
  • HM lunch to work
  • Leftovers for tea tonight
  • Walking to work - bus ticket ran out and don't really need it until tomorrow
  • More yoga homework tonight to keep me outta trouble; hopefully a bit of free yoga too - vids on youtube
  • Check banking
  • Post change of address letter - the palaver continues
  • Might count our penny jar
  • Fixed heating timer so it goes off at 8am when we leave the house, not later
  • Chase up the £5 the photo booth machine stole from me!! Said I'd hear from them within 7 days over a week ago... :naughty:

    Good Morning all

La E - Thanks for starting us off and I forgot to say we are very close to Walkley
Perni - sounds like more than just a "cold", take care of yourself and hope you start to feel better soon

Today's little list (very repititive but helping at the moment)

    Check Banks - Done
    Check Swapits - Done
Update food tracker (20lb off up to now since Sept) - in progress
General tidy up in attic - well under way now, just little bit of filing and shredding left
Read ("Lost Boy") - in progress, struggling to concentrate
    Comps
Try to sparkle - trying and failing
Sort more photos into albums - in progress
    More decluttering - Done
Ask on Freecycle for "Twister" as son would love it
    WW Weigh-in tonight
Investigate cheaper swimming options (it cost £16 for the 3 of us last night, really enjoyed it - I managed 40 lengths and little one met some of his friends there) - Done

Another quiet day here so hoping to get lots done

Hope you all have a great day, love to you all

Morning guys  thanks for starting us off La E, wishing u another cost free day - not long now till payday!

Ziggy our local swimming does a number of concessions. 1 is if your income is below a certain amount u can get a concessions membership which is £20 for the year and then £2 each per swim, also it does a book of 10 swims for a lower price I think it works out that 2 are free. I bet yours does some concessions

Starnac I was afraid to post when I first woke up for fear of judgement! :rotfl:

aw another day off :D going to spend the day watching films & relaxing (tick something off of my 101 list)

    inbetween this I have/will

    * [STRIKE]read martin's email[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]signed up for free meal at Zizzis on Monday :T have told oh I will treat him! :p[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]check banking x2 - not expecting it to be any different from yesterday! [/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]will change bank accounts as Santander is offering £100 switch[/STRIKE] - that'll be £100 off of my share of the holiday ;) (the more cash I can raise means I'll have more money for another holiday at some point ;))
    * [STRIKE]brekkie, lunch & dinner from stores[/STRIKE]
    * stick to diet & drink water
    * have a shower rather than a bath - deep condition my hair, had a lot of blond put in it last night and it feels dry & brittle
    * [STRIKE]dinner into the SC [/STRIKE]- pork casserole, creamy mash & red cabbage mmmmmm
    * list 3 things on ebay
    * do a search for travel ins
    * gym & sauna later
    * [STRIKE]NSD [/STRIKE]- other than going to the gym not intending on going anywhere or spending anything ;)

ok for someone who is going to be taking it easy I have a lot to do! Happy Wednesday workers :p not long till the weekend x

PS: DNMS mum says it's difficult to tell without seeing the machine, but you could try using sewing machine oil to see if it solves the problem. Other than that you may need to get it serviced
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

:o:o You make me feel bad now ;)

Morning all. Thanks La E for starting us off. Had a bad start to the day. DH took the pram to work in the boot of the car AGAIN  Luckily (?) when I rang to see if my stepdad could take DD to school for me my mum is off work sick so she said I could have her car. She only lives up the street so I could carry DS in is car seat there. Plus I have the car to go to coffee morning this morning :j

    So my list for today
    • Try not to be so judgemental to people on this thread ;)
    • Check banks
    • Meals from stores
    • Heating on low
    • HC
    • Packed lunch for DH
    • Walk 5000 steps this is probably not going to happen as DS and I can't go for a walk without the pram
    • LSD
    • Daily clicks I joined super point$ on monday so must remember to do that to get my payout closer :p
    • Track food on phone app
    • Make veg soup (didn't do this yesterday)
    • Look into (cheap) venues for birthday party
    • eb4y listings
    • List books on zapper
Can't think of anything else as my mind has gone blank. I'm sure there are loads of things I could be doing.
