Hi All,
Firstly apologies for probably repeating a question but I just wanted to put my mind at rest.
Recently received a Parking Charge Notice from a firm called Island Parking Control on the Isle of Wight.
I was parked in a car park belonging to a charity organisation on a very quiet day, few other cars there. The car park itself states only for the use of visitors to the amenity.
I was parked for approximately 15 minutes while delivering something to a friend at a different location.
Whe I returned I found this PCN for £75 or £45 if paid within 14 days
They state if it is unpaid a Notice to Owner will be issued.
While I understand I shouldn't perhaps of been selfish enough to park there as it is property belonging to a charity, what I would like to know is if I have to pay due to it being a car park solely for a charity.
I would much rather donate the money directly to the charity.
Thanks

They are cowboys, there is no need to pay anything at all.
Please ignore all correspondence that you get from them, it will eventually peter out.
They have no authority to 'fine' you.
Stand firm and ignore, come back on here for reassurance if you need to.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
This has no legal validity and is a scam. If you need to put your mind at rest make a discretionary donation to the charity but totally ignore this Mickey Mouse 'fine'.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

hmmmmEither through the installation of pay and display ticket machines and parking enforcement by ‘Excess Charge Notice’ issued by our highly trained parking attendants. Alternatively, we can issue permits for private car parks and control by ‘Penalty Charge Notice’.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Two more gems from their website:-
However there is growing demand for an alternative solution, Companies such as island parking Control police land and issue private parking fines direct to the motorist without having to resort to a clamp which can lead to confrontation.
And
Indeed with the recent change of government we (sic) it is now illegal clamp motorists on Private land.

Agree amateurs of the highest order, together with a website my 11 year old daughter could have made.

Brilliant guys, thanks very much for such speedy replies, I guess I was just after a bit of reassurance as I don't normally argue this sort of thing.
And I don't know about highly trained, they couldn't even spell the name of my vehicle and it has it plastered all over it.
If I hear more which from the sounds of it i will i'll repost.0 -
