We would like a 30kw combi boiler it needs to run a power shower too! There are so many out there, don't know where to turn!! We thought maybe a Worcester or Biasi??

Hi...you need RGIs recommended to you by a source you trust to conduct a site survey and discuss your requirements.

Btw...you can't run a 'power shower' off a combination boiler.

Take a look here for further advice.

The best boiler money can buy, is still likely to have problems when installed poorly. A good installer will do the job correctly, and chose a suitable product for you.
Conclusion: forget about finding out what the best boiler is for your needs, and concentrate of finding a good engineer that can take care of everything.

Does the house already have radiators? Is the cold water pressure sufficient? Gas pipework suitable for 30kW?

Before you run on this you need to get guotes. Then consider the quotes. Almosty certainly one of the quotes will suggest Worcester Bosch but I would be surprised if any propose Biasi.

The quote will address the questions I asked and lots more.

Are you saying there is no heating system at the moment? If there is,what is it?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    My engineer made one poin
Why do some companies give 5 years guarantee and others 1?
He said he wouldn't buy anything after than one with 5 years

I've gone for a Aristan clas he regular boiler from discount heating store (online). Cheapest supplier by a mile. My engineers trade discount couldn't get anywhere near the price.

Also how big is house? Does it require 30kw. I have a 4 bed and I've ordered a 24kw and probably could have got away with an 18kw. Once over 24kw prices start to jump

You'll find problems with any boiler and they are not as well built as the old boilers from 10-20 years ago

    Thanks

  • thank you for you comments.....

The house is mid 60's, 3 bed semi - has had no radiators fitted, we have brought these now. There was an emersion heater and 2 gas fires with back boilers behind them. I have no idea how the previous owner lived in there!! I have been thinking worcesters to be honest just looking for the right price lol!! I have got an engineer in mind so that wont be a problem. We have had a water meter fitted and the pressure is good.

There is just too many to choose from!!

    Thanks

If that's what you want I wouldn't put you off. You may be interested to know that selected Worcester Bosch boilers are currently available with a 5 years warranty.

Be aware that you must use a GasSafe registered installer who must register the 5 year warranty.

See will never get same opinions of boiler subject

My nan has had a new Worcester and they have had several calls for breakdowns in 6 months

Engineer told me about valiants on a council estate that were setting on fire due to design issue. 1 yr guarantee

Issues with pumps on an estate with glow worm pumps and I know a friend with same issue and has 2 yr guarantee

Some of boilers that have extended guarantee are the approved companies that the manufacturer suggest and will pay 1000's more than should need to

From what I can gather Each of boilers used each other parts and that should ensure boiler has stainless steel exchanger

Aim for a long guarantee for piece of mind

The quality of the install can often be the issue

    Very well priced ...

I couldn't find a reg conventional Worcester with 5 yr guarantee

Could only find Worcester combi with 5 yr guarantee but that is probably to save their name after they had so many problems with one their combi boilers . Only need to put in to google

Which one is that? The budget range models from WB have more breakdowns than the top models, but that is to be expected. I am not aware of one particular problem model in their combi range.
