Don't worry I am going to be completely honest with CCCS and tell them about all the debts, but I'n also going to tell them that I do not want to initiate contact with the ones that aren't contacting me at the mo. Perhaps we can have one plan of action for now which can be reviewed if and when the others come after me. So difficult to know what to do for the best really!Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0

Hey all,
Just got off phone with CCCS, they've recommended a Debt Management Plan. They are sending out a pack to me today. We worked out, from all of the savings I've managed to make in my budget (including quitting smoking) I will have £445 a month to pay into it. Which means that I should be debt free in 5 yrs and 1 month, although if the 2 debts that I think are statute barred aren't included then it will be 4yrs and 3 months instead. She's given me a phone number for an ombudsman to phone up and find out about that. She's also going to send me something about getting a free copy of my credit file so I can see if they're on there.
I'm amazed at how much money I've saved on my budget, but £445 does seem a scary amount to find every month!! But have been over and over the budget and am sure it's right. Looks like we're going to start it from March, so I have next month to get together the first payment. As all my money comes in dribs and drabs thru the month I'm going to have to put money aside for it during the month to pay for the next month's. Which will take a bit of organisation and discipline from me, but I'm sure I can do it.
I just wanted to thank everyone on here again, I'm sure my situation would be a lot worse without all your amazing advice. Will keep you all posted tho about how I'm doing.

Good Luck with your payment plan. I have read through most of the posts on here and wondered if you have tried a Freesat box ?
I earn very good money but still try to manage it, I dont have sky and havent for 10 years plus but the flat I recently moved into has a dish, I bought the Freesat box from Argos at £29.99 and it has nearly 150 channels free of charge.
OK, not your premium stuff as sold on Sky but decent enough amount of kids channels and music channels to keep my 10 and 12 year old girls happy.0 -
If you register with quidco - you can get paid a few quid to immediately get copies of your credit report from equifax and experian. Just make sure you remember to cancel within 30 days - you have to cancel via the phone.
Good luck!0 -
Really pleased the CCCS interview went well. We'll all be here to help you get prepared through Feb, ready for your first payment.
You do realise you're gonna have to change the name of this diary as I, for one think you've made huge strides and what you are in now is definitely not a 'mess' :O)Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end
