Credit Card Newbie

Options
Quick summary!

Never had a credit card but going to the States in May. Only debt is student loan. Thinking of applying for the Halifax Clarity due to its no fees properties.

Other than that, I've been looking at the Tesco & M&S 0% for 15 months cards. My aim is to stooze! I realise you have to pay off a minimum amount each month and then the whole lot prior to the end of the 15 months, but apart from that...... I'm not EXACTLY sure what SORT of card I need. Will these cards allow me to transfer the entire credit limit over to my Lloyds Vantage account? Do I need some sort of money transfers or balance transfers or purchases card???

Any help greatly appreciated!

How about the new nationwide one? 18 months interest free on purchases versus 15 on the M&S one you were looking at, same half percent cashback as M&S, plus purchases overseas will be free of any charges - so ideal for your slow-stoozing aspirations and your trip to the states.

Ah - but only if you have an active nationwide current account.
  • That's the bummer, I don't want to switch banks, as such...

So DOES anybody here actually stooze, then? It must be difficult to get the cash out and transferred to a bank account - they have to catch on to this, surely...

Just applied for a Halifax Clarity card due to the no-fees when abroad.

It's much more effort for less reward than it was a few years ago.

It's usually quite easy with MBNA products. Less so, but possible, with M&S.

    Good luck.
