How do they calculate the rate for a quarterly meter read which spans Apr 1?
eg if your quarterly read is due end Apr do they pay all units at the new rate or do they estimate a reading for Apr 1 and split between the two rates?0 -

EDF have told me that they estimate the breakdown. My next claim will be in March, they should send me an e-mail on the 1st, but I can submit it any time during the month. I'll probably leave it till late March, but doubt the estimates will be too far out.
I believe that most companies will proportion the readings.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

From EDF's meter read request received today:On the 1st April 2012 the Tariff rates for all Feed in Tariffs will increase by 4.8% in line with the Retail Price Index. To calculate your meter reading for the tariff change, our system will calculate an estimated reading for 31st March 2012 and you will receive the new rate as of 1st April 2012. This calculation will be based on the two recent readings being pro-rated over that date period.
If you provide a reading close to the end of March this will result in a more accurate estimation for the 1st April 2012 changes. Please note we are unable to take any readings in April.
We will pay your incentive payment for the energy generated (and exported if applicable), within 90 days of the end of your meter reading month.

However under 'Solar photovoltaic with total installed capacity of 4kW or less, where attached to or wired to provide electricity to a building which is already occupied' it does say that 'FIT Year 1 2010/11' was 45.4 which is wrong as thats the new April 2012 price isnt it ?!0 -

The final row confirms the export tariff has gone up from 3.1p to 3.2p per kWh of export (which is deemed at 50% for most domestic installations).Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -
The best way of making sure that you get paid correctly for your FIT and Gen tariff is to send to your supplier, two readings, one as at 31st of March and one at your usual 1/4 end date. That way you will know that you have been paid 0.47p from 01/04/12 for FIT & Gen Tariff for each unit on your meter. This includes the Fit at 0.45.4p and 50% of Gen @ 0.32p. If you havent taken a reading on the 31st. then do a fair estimate!:beer:2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Oooops 0.45.4 should read 0.454 before someone spots it:mad:2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Not all suppliers accept readings outside of the quarterly months. EDF only accept readings during the Months of March, June, September and December. EDF recommended submitting as close to the end of March so that the 31st reading could be estimated as accurately as possible. I submitted in the middle of the month as I knew we'd be away on the 31st and I didn't want to risk submitting on a non-working day and it getting ignored. As it turns out the reading will probably result in a low estimate for the 31st March as the latter half of the month far exceeded generation during the first half. So that will probably result in some of our generation during March getting paid at the new rate (ie 4.8% higher).
Oscarthegrouch, you should be able to edit your first post. The export rate also has a decimal point in the wrong place, it should read £0.032 or 3.2p. Also its £0.47 not 0.47 pence,
For the vast majority who have their export deemed at 50% of generation, the new total rate as of April 1st 2012 (for installations with eligibility date before 3rd March 2012) is:
£0.454 + 50% x £0.032 = £0.47/kWhCider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0
