itv.com selling mobile numbers!!

For some time I've been suspicious of itv.com selling our numbers when we enter tv competitions but now I actually have proof!!

At the weekend I used a brand new sim/number when entering the Take Me Out competition and so far this week I've had two text messages (07980038191 and 07977326751) from scam companies offering compensation for PPi payments (I've never, ever paid PPI) and a phone call from a scam London number (02070597699) which has previously been linked to itv.com.

Is there any way to complain about this?

I have had PPI payment protection text and voice mails on my phone and never sent a text message to anyone but family and freinds. I do not use my real number either when looking for insurance quotes. I would hate to have the phone number 01000 100000 as they get my unwanted mails when after a insurance quote.
So its a good chance ITV are innocent.

I have not read the terms and conditions when you sent a text to take me out.

Over the past few months every time I've entered a competition with itv.com I've received spam texts/calls within 48hrs. This is why I used a brand new sim card this time just to try find out whether it was actually connected to them or purely coincidence.

Many spammer use random number generators which is why you're often advised not to respond to spam text as it alerts them that the number is active and in use.
