We have got a 100 pounds cheaper insurance quote from AA than direct line. Would it be worth trying to ask Direct Line to match that?
Thanks!!

No, Direct Line do not do price matching.
the quote you get is the final price0 -
Direct line used to be so much cheaper than the AA when they first were about, but now it has gone the other way strange.:beer:0

Most ins co's will tell you that the quote you are given is the final price you will get. IMO thats rubbish. Its always worth going back to your insurer and giving them the chance to match it, at worst cancel and tell them you are changing co's, at best you get them to match it or reduce it further. All its cost you is a phone call, unless of course you have an 0800 number.
I have to call around for 2 cars and a motorbike every year and I always give the current insurer the chance to match/beat my best quote.
In your case phil I would call back Direct line and say that you have had a quote from the AA and tell them they are £100 cheaper, or if your feeling cheeky £110-£120 cheaperIf they won't match/beat then cancel policy (remember to do this as most co's autorenew if you don't tell them otherwise) and go with AA. At least if you call them you will know you have tried.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We do not have Direct Line or AA insuring us at that moment, so we do not have that kind of we will leave you tool to play with.:beer:0 -
Hopefully there might be another 5- 10 pc off AA if we put in our membership number.:beer:0

Hi Phil
If you're really keen on using the AA don't forget to try through quidco, might get a bit more off"A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist." Franklin Jones0 -
AA has come up in the top 3 from confused and moneysupermarket-- so it looks pretty much the best quote for all bits I want in it.
Quidco is a good idea cheers!:beer:0 -

Rather than wasting time on here why don't you just phone Direct Line and ask them. The phone number is 0845 246 8811
I suggest you say something like "Hello my name is Student Phil I'm not the sharpest tool in the box but can you tell me if you will price match a lower quote from one of your competitors"0 -
R points offers £32 quid back with AA:beer:0

Ignore my first post, my reply was based on facts that didn't exist. By the way you worded your original post it sounded to me like you were insured with DL and had a better quote from AA to renew. If neither co is insuring you at the moment then why go to DL And ask them to match the AA quote?? DL have no incentive to beat the AA quote as you aren't an existing customer. Just go with AA.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
