La Redoute is sorry

Every month I seem to get an email from La Redoute saying something as follows:
You may have noticed that we have had a few technical issues on our website and have undergone some maintenance on our checkout in the last few days. We are very sorry if you were affected by this is any way and we have now resolved all of these issues..
To go some way to making up for your disappointment, we'd like to offer you free delivery* when you spend £40 or more for 48 hours
I never use LR so website maintenance isn't an issue for me, they obviously send this email on mass.
I think they're taking the mick buy disguising marketing as an apology, it's clear they're just trying to get £40 out of me, they should just be up front and say "Look, we want your dough, so we'll knock a fiver off if you spend £40". If it was really an apology I wouldn't have to spend money to get any benefit, they would just send me a cheque instead.
Perhaps I should send an email pointing out how flimsy their 'apology' is and ask for a cheque in the post instead?

La Redoute spam more than any other company I've ever dealt with. Apart from perhaps Virgin Media. I cancelled my account with La Redoute purely because I was fed up with their endless marketing."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

I get the same....usually with a 20% or 50% ''off'' which i tell my wife about. She never buys...nicknames them La Rid Oot because of their poor quality goods! :T0

la redoute and vertbaudet (same company i believe) do this all the time and it's starting to get on my nerves! the thing is though, a lot of the times the codes they send out don't end up working and there are always maintenance issues too! the amount of times i've ordered at night and received a email the next morning telling me my order couldn't be processed. they are a pain in the backside and just come across as an incompetent company.0

Even more than groupon? Just checking my email account now there is 3 unread emails from them, this is just from today (3:36AM;3:47AM;5:13AM) - and this seems to happen regularly!! :eek:0 -
I usually block the sites that send spam and unsolicited mails. U can always unblock them at any stage if required.0
