I need some advise to pre-emp a situation which i feel may arise.
I saw some software advertised through Google's shopping pages and it was advertised by a company for £49.00 + £4.99 shipping next day. I waited in the next day and at 4pm I called to see where my purchase was to be told that it was out of stock (it said in stock when I ordered it). I had also noticed that the £54.00 price on their website had now been put up to £74.00 and when I questioned the girl on the phone about this, she said that because no money had yet been taken for the goods, they may charge me the £74.00 now but I would be told before hand so I could decide if I wanted to still continue with the purchase!
I have a email receipt for the purchase at £54.00.
My question is this: Can they now, before shipping the goods, charge me the higher amount even thought I have an email receipt saying so, and also, who can I complain to/threaten them with if they start being silly about this?? Thanks!

Hi. Welcome.
It might be worth reading the thread entitled...
Do shops have to sell at the advertised price?.0 -
Yes they can charge you more as long as you have been notified of this and accepted it or not after they have shipped the goods and asked for more.0

Doesn't sound right to me.0 -

Inserting the word 'not' totally changes the meaning... lol
But anyway, thanks.0 -
I don't think the sentence makes much sense either before or after the edit, it's grammatically incorrect in both cases.0

Who cares about grammatical correctness as long as the meaning is understood? I agree it's not perfect but I understood what was meant. (I would have said "but not" rather than "or not").0
