Why won't Ebay pull this listing?

  • Why stew about it? The only ones it's 'hurting' are ebay, and they are sitting fat, dumb and happy in their insitence that sellers use paypal - as they are entitled to do, but it irks me. You've bothered to tell them. Three times. They haven't reacted. Their (small) loss; his (tiny) victory.
    Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!

    Just curious now - this is the third time it's been listed and I've reported it each time and it never gets pulled for some reason.

    Nothing wrong with asking for cash on collection - however it's not a 'collection only' item.

    Damn stickybeak, why can't you just leave him alone!!!!!

    i can see both sides on this one
    the seller doesnt want too pay any more fees than he has too whether its too paypal or ebay ; its unfair that ebay makes sellers you put paypal as an option ...
    but as a seller myself ... why should i pay paypal and ebay fees if he doesnt ? the seller knew the terms of selling on ebay before he listed ;
    rules are there too be obeyed on ebay ; the seller needs too get a grip and move on instead of trying too screw over the system :T

    Pulled anyway now...
    Or maybe he sold it.

    OP you only have 354,815 more cash on collection sales to report now, better get on with it.

    If he had sold it, you would still be able to see it. Its been pulled.

    There is a big difference between a seller actually having a Paypal account and saying in the listing they want or prefer cash on collection, and this guy who clearly stated he doesn't even have a Paypal account so therefore put a fictitious email address in the Paypal section of the listing.

    I knew that i'd get a fair amount of snidey comments when I started this thread!

    Again, nothing wrong with 'cash on collection' items.

    Anyway, listing has finally been pulled and rightly so - demanding payment by bank transfer to post a £700 guitar is not on - the buyer would have no protection. There's also the issue of shill bidding (as I said this is the 3rd 'auction' for this guitar.......)

    I'm pretty certain that this listing is in breach of Ebay's policies in that the seller says he won't accept PayPal (see the final paragraph of the listing);

    This is the 3rd time this item has been listed and I've reported it each time but it never gets pulled - and ideas why?

    Who cares? The mandatory requirement of Paypal is just so Ebay can screw more money out of sellers.

    The buyer doesn't have water tight protection paying with Paypal either despite what they say and you think.

    Well I care for one. Most sellers play by the rules. The ones that don't, deserve what they get. If they don't like the fees they can go somewhere else.
