Delivered Milk

As some of you may remember I was going to ditch the milkman as part of my economy drive. But now I'm not doing so badly (having a regular job really helps), I'm putting up with his prices as I like having fresh milk delivered to the door daily - or almost daily as he takes Wednesday and Sunday off but always delivers on a bank holiday Monday (apart from Christmas).
I'm paying 47p per pint - and I like pint bottles too - and now we're bringing it in straight away (he delivers at about 3.30am but the sun doesn't come around until about 9am) it's lasting much longer.
We could get cartons from Tesco, or those plastic bottles, but I prefer milk out of a glass bottle, and Misterholic rarely touches any other kind, unless we're on holiday.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
I have the milkman deliver milk as I get milk tokens. If i didn't have the milk tokens then i'd be getting all my milk from a supermarket. It's a simple case of economics for me.
Milkmen aren't actually THAT badly off. It certainally isn't a well paid job but it isn't badly paid either. Father-in-law used to be a milkman and would get well in excess fo £1000 tips at christmas. He managed to bring up a family with 5 kids, SAHM, nice 4-bed house and drove a BMW. Mind you, having said all that, he was a cantankerous old misery guts and the hours were rubbich.0 -
