Hi all
My partner will be moving in with me in a few weeks so I need to notify tax credits.
I earn £8500 and recieve child and working tax credits
Partner earns £26k at the moment! But after march he is going self employed and will initially be earning about £500 a month.
Will our tax credits be based on his 26k salary or his new one for the payments we recieve please?
many thanks

It's possible to get a current year assessment if your household income drops.
Be aware that the criteria for WTC is changing in April so that a couple with children must work at least 24 hours a week between them with one member of the couple working 16 hours or more.
For details of changes to tax credits and the effect of a reduction in household income have a look here:

do you mean you work 3 hours each? if you both work 60 hours that means you're only getting £2something an hour.Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

I am a registered childminder but partner is going to be working with me as my assistant (self employed) which means we can take on more children, he only has one child at the moment as new to it and only just allowed child numbers increase hence he is only on £500 so far. But yes we are woirking 12 hour days and salary is based on net not gross xThank you0
