nearest beach resort to Barcelona airport?

Hi, i've found cheap flights to Barcelona airport but we don't want to stay actually in the city. Which is the nearest Costa or the nearest beach resort to Barcelona airport?

Im afraid it cant spell it but it is pronounced as es-tar-tit lovely coastal town with shops/ historical interest/ sandy beach and its just off of motorway for easy access to city.

We are staying in Salou in May and flying to Barcelona; Salou is quite a big resort so lots of choice of hotels and it's only EUR4 or so on the train from Barcelona (after you've got the train from the airport to central Barcelona).

Barcelona has a nice beach so you get the best of both worlds and you can get some lovely appartments down at the beach. They cleaned it all for the Olympics. I have some nice pics if you IM me!

as the marmite hater says - barcelona has a series of beaches which aren't that bad although not really a resort though.
