Free Toby carvery meal for two?

Hello.
I have just received an email from a good friend with a printable attachment for a 'free carvery meal for two'.
It doesn't look right to me.
Has the Toby logo on the bottom right. Apparently valid Mon-Sat, 2nd - 31st Jan 2012. You have to fill in name, address, email and postcode. Terms and conditions at the bottom state that they can contact you - yada yada. One voucher per two guests. voucher must be turned over at time of ordering etc.

However, there is no restriction. The voucher appears three times on the printout (A4).
I have googled and found nothing.
I think someone may have been playing with publishing software.

Anyone else seen or know about this?

If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is !

It would be commercial suicide for a company like that to give two meals away for free.

There is an offer they are currently doing which is two daytime carvery meals 2 for £10, thats the only one they have emailed me.

  • I've come into contact with one of the said vouchers, and went in to try and use the voucher today. The manager came over and spoke to me and told me that apparently, a number of vouchers have been circulated by inappropriate means (probably someone who has photocopied the voucher three times onto one page). The voucher is only valid to people who made a valid party booking for a Festive Fayre menu made in November 2011. He told me that the managers at Toby will be checking that anyone in receipt of the "free voucher" did indeed make a booking in November.

I was unable to prove I had made this booking, but was able to have a 2 for £10 voucher that Muckybutt refers to in his post and had a very nice meal too.
  • I was given this voucher today too, it did seem to be too good to be true.
You could print as many as you liked and go every day in January except Sundays. If you lived near one that would be lunch and dinner sorted for the entire month.
  • I also received this voucher and thought it was to good to be true.
However, I phoned my local Toby Carvery and they said to bring it in - did that and enjoyed a free meal for 2 of us - no problem - just paid £4 for drinks! Amazing. Going to try again next week. They said that the voucher was genuine - maybe I just got luky!

    Lucky you :-)

Which Toby Carvery did you visit?
  • Looks like the Toby Carvery website has been updated about these vouchers http://www.tobycarvery.co.uk/bexleyheathkent/offer/freecarverymealofferguidance/
