recovery service. mr clutch
Hi i recently had a clutch fitted by Mr Clutch (a month ago) now it has gone they say they will repair it free but will not foot the bill for the recovery to get it from my house to their garage. they stated in their terms and conditions it says this ,but nowhere on the invoice or their website t&c does it say this do i have any legal stand point or do i have to lose my £50?

they fitted the clutch, it failed, left you standed, you called recovery to get you, this would be a warranty claim for them, anyway, can they not submit additional costs as part of the warranty claim because the failure left a customer standed?
or is this a case of ill fitted warranty void, and not wanting to pay out too much in costs. i would check with consumer direct, but i should imagine if they had ill fitted it you could take them to small cliams to collect back any out of pocket expenses caused by their incompitance, tell them you wish to see any report the clutch manufacturer sends them with reference number and your reg on, so you can call and check the document isnt forged either case i would press for costs to be refunded.0 -
My advice would be to forget the £50 and take the car somewhere that doesn't use reconditioned clutches and knows how to fit them properly.0

Check the small print.
99.9% of warranties will only cover parts and labour to rectify the issue. Any other costs incurred are your problem.0 -
It has gotten worse since the £50 i got the van back today and 1st and 2nd gear grind when i try and get them , mr clutch says to bring it back and they will look at it but they say sounds like gearbox problem, but the problem was not there until there badly fitted clutch went. also i rang consumer direct they say if mr clutch changed the 1st clutch under warrenty they have automatically admitted fault for the initial installation therefore under sale of goods act i can claim back from them all reasonable costs inured due to their first clutch0
