Thank you for posting ordered one late last night for my sons 8th birthday in March and had another look at the reviews and just ordered another two for his two friends party presents next week.

I'm sure it does as I seem to remember asking instore if old DS games could be played on the 3DS if eldest was good enough to get one from Santa. Eldest had been naughty so Santa didnt bring one so I cant check sorry but I'm sure someone with a little more knowledge will be along soon.

This is a great game, encourages spelling, word recognition and problem solving. Would recommend.

Is the 3DS backward compatible?

The 3DS will be backward compatible with both Nintendo DS and DSiWare software. To ensure compatibility, the system retains the internal and external cameras of the Nintendo DSi and has the ability to download software straight to solid state storage inside the handheld, as well as features the standard D-Pad and buttons input, touch screen functions, and microphone. Standard DS games will not have the ability to be displayed in stereoscopic 3D on the 3DS. DS games will likely only be displayed in standard 2D. Absolutely works on the 3DS, oh and how much fun is this game? Ours arrived today and he is off sick with a cold, he has played it all day, lots of laughter when his zombie hovercraft attacked my flying blue cow, excellent. Well done

If you type 'pregnant' the character will wait a few seconds then look confused and pop out a mini version of itself - our favourites so far are 'pregnant chair', 'pregnant baby' and 'pregnant Abraham Lincoln'. :rotfl:
