Should I do it?

I've been contacted by a company offering to help me claim my PPI back. They operate on no win no fee, but charge 25% on all winning claims.
Is this a good offer? I would do it myself, but looking at it, there are about 9 companies I would like to open claims to.
I also have little/ no information on the companies I want to claim from - in some cases I cannot even remember the name of the company, let alone account numbers and so on.
Can anyone offer any tips or advice?

Their service is vatable so that adds 20% VAT to their charge. Is this a good offer?
For sticking a stamp on an envelope containing a template letter you can get for free and having a success rate that is probably equal or lower than doing it yourself? I would say no its not.I would do it myself, but looking at it, there are about 9 companies I would like to open claims to.
And how would a claims company reduce your work? You still have to tell them what your complaint/situation is. So, why not just tell the bank/lenders directly?I also have little/ no information on the companies I want to claim from - in some cases I cannot even remember the name of the company, let alone account numbers and so on.
A claims company wont help you there. You need to give the claims company the details to allow them to send in their complaint letter (which in case you were not aware, uses the same free of charge complaints process if you do it yourself).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I totally agree with dunstonh, i was in the same position as you, i didn't have all the complete information i thought i would need, i still went ahead and did it myself, i have done 3 claims and have been paid for 2 already, i have had the 3rd acknowledged and will receive my payment any time.
DO NOT go down the route of getting a company to do i for you, if i can do it anyone can.....good luck0 -
Thank you both!
I have just accepted a new job with the company I work with and taken a big pay cut (£115 a week loss) - I need all the spare money I can get now!0
