123reg webhosting

Recently spent £90 buying the instasite pro package for 1 year and a 2year domain name registration. Using the supposedly user friendly website templates was a frustrating enough experience with work that was done not being saved despite pressing the save button. This wouldn't have been so bad if it didn't delete all changes since the last save.

Now after struggling through that nightmare and finally getting the website uploaded lots of advertising that isn't mentioned during purchase, and doesn't show up during website building pops up and shunts the homepage out of the way. Not only that but the support team have taken over 72hours and still not given a reply or support of any kind. To call them would cost 50p a minute.

Do not touch this rubbish company with a barge pole, even if it was the last web hosting company on the internet, avoid them at all costs.

Seems to have worked fine for me so far, apart from taking a week to answer an email.
  • Have to say that their support does leave a LOT to be desired.

I had/have a domain with them and upgraded to hosting as from their web page they seemed to provide a service i wanted. They didnt provice this.

So, after asking them if they can cancel it and refund back some sort of pro-rata refund, nothing happened. I sent the request again and was told that would be no problem and ... nothing happened. I emailed again and was told the same thing again... and nothing happened.

This has gone on for the past 5 months now and still NOTHING has been done. It does also take them a long time to reply to the messages and ignore any messages that are responces back to them.

    Grrr :p

Have used them for many years for domains and never had anything but good support from them but I have always gone elsewhere for hosting as they dont do what I want (ASP.Net these days) and never seemed cost effective for what they offered.

123reg webhosting and tech support is dreadful. They ignore emails and can only be contacted via a 50p per minute premium phoneline which is only available during office hours!!!!! When you do phone, they give you incorrect information so you are no better off. Just do a google to find more stories...
  • Have used them for years for domains and i found they have good support from them betten the some other hosts i tryed. but i have not tryed webhosting off them.
