But if you're happy with the layout of the kitchen, and the carcasses /worktops etc are all absolutely fine, and you just want to change the look, why not just change the doors?

Isn't it slightly pointless to spend a lot of extra money replacing everything if most of it is OK?

As it happens, I have 1 broken skin on the front of a kitchen door. The local dream doors franchise has very good reviews so I'm considering asking them for a quote to upgrade my doors - so am very interested in peoples' comments on this thread.

Absolutely no reason why you shouldn't at all.

Yes it is. However a kitchen [STRIKE]sales person[/STRIKE]'designer' won't tell you that.

Have a look and check the prices. You may well find cheaper on the net or even in the 'sheds'. If you choose doors made of wood then de-lamination will not be a problem. in the future they can be renovated by sanding and re-finishing.

IMO most modern kitchen units are an expensive exercise in style over substance. Over hyped and over priced and in an arms race to produce, mostly unnecessary, accessories to inflate the price even more.
