Folks,
I have a poor credit history as a result of illness a couple of years back.
Doing well now and paying off debts.
However I need a new sofa.
Can anyone advise if I apply for 0% finance with DFS am i likely to get it given my history, or should I simply avoid getting a pointless search on my credit record.
Thanks
Chris

as above.
if you aint got the money, you cant afford it.
try freecycle.Get some gorm.0 -
1] A new sofa is a want, not a need. A replacement sofa is I suppose a legitimate need. So go for secondhand or freecycle etc.
2] If you do go for their credit, have a look at this thread. It seems that if credit is declined, they will try to force you to buy the sofa anyway.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Where is a decent place to get sofa's/armchairs? I keep hearing DFS is crap, although there is an armchair that i like from there. It's only a chair i need.0

Hi. What sort of things have you got on your credit report? And do you know your score at all?
My OH has 2 defaults on a mobile phone from 4 years ago & got declined finance at B&Q. So I suppose it depends on your credit?
It's probably unlikely that DFS actually offer the finance, they usually do it through a 3rd party finance company.
If you are still after a sofa either call the finance company & see if they can help you/advise likelihood or perhaps go for a 0% credit card if possible. HTH0
