I have recently left e-on after being with them for nearly 3 years. They have charged me £20 for leaving my contract early! Is there anything I can do to get this money back?

Probably not. The "3 years" is not relevant, only the terms of the current tariff.
Why did you leave your contract "early"?0 -
Probably not as it sounds as though the tariff you were on had an early exit fee - either a fixed price offer or discounted tracker tariff. A call centre agent may cancel the charge but it is unlikely in most cases.0

Hi Bazmondo38,
I hope you don't mind me popping on to this thread.
Unfortunately you won't get the £20.00 cancellation fee back, as it stated in your terms and conditions, if you leave EON before your end date, you will be charged a £20.00 cancellation fee for coming out of your contract early.
Let me know if you need any more information.
Amy.

It depends whether they had increased the price. If they had and you gave notice to switch then they are obliged to hold prices at previous levels and not charge an exit fee.0

Why not forget E-on, go to your new supplier and tell them what you have lost, some have the ability to put this on your account as a credit, for example £20 against each fuel.
If you write a nice letter and make out this has really upset you I am sure you will get something and don't forget to mention how nasty E-on are :-)
I know this isnt getting the money back, but you have covered the cost this way.0
