Should I cancel my deal?
As my EDF dual fuel deal expired on 31st December, I looked around to see which the best switch would be, and decided on the Scottish Power Online Fixed Price Energy April 2013 Offer. I duly signed up for it online through Simplyswitch for £40 cashback.
Within days the 5% cuts on gas prices began, and I now see that Scottish Power have hopped on board!
I am still at a very early stage, I have not been given a swtchover date, in fact Scottish Power haven't yet told me that they have contacted EDF, so if I wanted I could presumably pull out of it. I can't work out what would be for the best. I will be paying 5% over the odds until April next year, my annual gas cost is something like £450 to £500, is it going to be best to ditch the new deal in the hope of being better off with something else?
Is anybody else in this situation?

Scottish Power will tell EDF 15 days after they are notified that you have signed up. I signed up through uSwitch and they were given my application a couple of days later so 15 days after that EDF were informed. If you can't cancel completely they may allow you to change tariff. Ask them.0
