Gloss paint over Ronseal Brushing Wax

Hi there competent DIYer's!

We have skirting boards and architraves that have been treated with Ronseal Brushing wax. We would like to remove this and gloss over.

Any recommendations on how to best do this.

My thoughts are, wipe all the surfaces with a rag and white spirit, this seems to remove most of the wax. Then would it be best to use a self neutralising stripper to get rid of any residue?

Plan is then to undercoat (or would primer be best) and then gloss over.

Any help, thoughts or advice gladly received.

Thank you!

Go over the job with sandpaper, about 800 grit, just to provide a key. Then lay on undercoat and gloss.
