cycling FPN gone to bailiffsHi there This is my first post so I hope its in the right

Options
Hi there
This is my first post so I hope its in the right place.
On AUG 22 2011 I was issued with the fine for cycling on the pavement (and maybe telling them were to go!) by community officers for £30 (which went up to £45 after I ignored it) The circumstances of why I was on the path I'm sure have no consequence but I'd just that second gone on the path to avoid a stopped tram...
Anyway I continued to ignore it.
I then received a notice of "intention to enter and search..." from Philips Bailiffs stating that I owed £320(!!) regarding a Distress Warrent.
After reading in these forums I found that they charge £75 (admin?) + £200 (attendance?). The fees are not explained in the letter.
I then got a hand delivered notice of attendance to undertake recovery procedures (I wasn't in) on 20th Dec 2011. I also live in a shared house with nothing of mine in the shared areas if that's relevent.
Anyways I'm not sure as to what to do now as I really don't want to pay £320+ for a £30 cycling fine which seems a bit steep for burying my head.
Should I contact them or maybe a CA Bureaux or something or continue to ignore it and hope it'll go away (wishful thinking eh?)
Any advice would be appreciated.
Ta.
PS sorry for the double post. I think I put it in the wrong forum

As it has gone to bailliffs you have to act fast. There is a good telephone advice line but the name of it escapes me. I know they will be aware of it over on www.pepipoo.com and also the Consumer Action Group. Get over there fast and start a new thread.

Oops well it wont go away, and now its with the Bailiffs it will cost you more. I think the people Trebor16 meant was bailiff advice online. If their is a way out they will find it!
Whatever you do do not let the Baillifs into your house. Keep all your doors and windows locked. If you haven't got a car then there is not much else they will be able to seize.

That's the one Robbo. At least he is get advice in this section compared to the nonsense being spouted in the motoring section on the thread he started there.

Used to post over there but their more interested in arguing then helping. Given the amount of angelic drivers/riders on there I am surprised there are any motoring offences!

If the OP is still around:o This will need dealing with and bailiffadviceonline will help make sure the charges are right.
If you avoid the bailiffs or refuse to come to an arrangement they could come back with a committal warrant, which could see you in front of a magistrate and maybe a few days in prison!

Op now needs damage limitation, as the bailiffs will just add £200 every visit the make (or allege they make) i know they have also posted on CAG, so hopefully they will get the right advice.

As the bailiffs have been instructed by the court would I be right in thinking that their fees are limited?
