No, only a little on the windows in the morning.
Then you haven't got a problem.
In regards to the clothes it's easy to mistake cold clothes for being damp particularly if your hands aren't warm. If you warm the clothes up i.e. put them on a warm radiator then you quickly realise they aren't damp.
Also there are lots of things that can cause blocked nose/sore throat. For example people with allergies to things like dust mites can wake up feeling like that.
BTW Are you drying lots of washing in the house/ have low power extractor fans/don't like opening windows? As you should not need to run a dehumidifier if your house has adequate ventilation and the radiators are sufficient in size to heat the rooms.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
the best guide is about 50%. comfortable for you and the house.
anything above that and problems can arise. certainly as you get a lot higher.
say 70/80 % you need to do something about it.
bathrooms and kitchens are the worst offenders. opening a window helps a lot.Get some gorm.0 -
Thought I'd update this as we have a resolution to the 'feeling damp' problem.
The person who is responsible for the upkeep of the place was out looking at all the issues. Turns out that rain has been getting in through the roof, all along it's length, running down the chimney stacks and also the rafters, into the walls. Some wallpaper peeled back in one particular room and there is mould growing underneath, in the plaster, it just hadn't actually grown through the wallpaper yet, largely because we have the dehumidifier running all day and that was helping to make it harder to spread. Apparently the issue was evident the winter before last, before we moved in but it was supposed to have been fixed. It wasn't dealt with properly and has worsened now and more walls are affected.
So hopefully it will be dealt with soon and we wont be feeling damp anymore.Herman - MP for all!0
