We have a garden with a summer house in it, the original intention was to get rid of it and plant turf, we are now undecided if to keep it, insulate it and tidy it up as a hobby room / summer house. the main issue is that it is a horrible green colour (cuprinal garden shade I think) we are thinking of creating a beach hut theme. what can we use to paint it?

I would suggest you try Architectural Solignum, it comes it different colours, has the consistancy of water so protect paving slabs etc. I covers well and is oil based.Do not go for any of the water based treatments as from my experience they don't last,Solignum does and needs re-coating every 5-7 yrs.

Its more expensive than waterbased treatments but you will need to re-coat waterbased every 2-3 years and oil based penetrates and protects better.Contact them and ask for some colour charts.0 -
Or a cheap alternative is to paint every other board white and create a green and white beach theme? If its only used occassionally I would just get a decent heater in there rather than fully insulating, unless you can get insulation and interior cladding / boarding cheaply
That would be my MSE solution!0
