CMS Parking

Options
Hi! Had to get a new battery from a Halfords on Stanlley Green Retail Park as old battery shot, car would only start using jump leads. Rang up and told by Halfords to park outside so they could fit a new one. When I arrived, only spaces available close by were disabled ones, so reluctantly parked in one, knowing once switched off, car wouldn't start again. Found a parking ticket issued by CMS on the screen for '05, not displaying a valid disabled badge'. I note the ticket invited me to pay the FINE on line. Posted an appeal, but to no avail. Should I pay?

The Blue Badge regs do not apply on private property, so other than a courtesy, this is quite meaningless.

Not a fine, don't get into any more contact with them and ignore everything from now on!

CMS are very easy to ignore. They used to send a couple of letters and then give up. Now they use Roxbughe and Graham White I believe, which just means 5 or 6 letters to ignore instead of 2.
  • Thank you all, most reassuring. I did send them another Email asking whether it was a charge waived on displaying a blue badge, or a fine. No reply yet - will keep you posted.

It's not anything different but they will bother you until you stop them.

If you just search the parking forum for keywords like 'Roxburghe phone calls' you will see some of the other times this has been mentioned, and what the advice is to get them to shut up!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A simple two word answer works best, repeat as many times as required until they put the phone down.
