Car Tax + New Vehicles
I just had my vehicle licence application notice through the post which I thought was a bit odd as I was not expecting it till March.
It details I need to apply for a tax disc to start from 1st March 2007. This seemed wrong as my previous tax disc started from the 25th March 2006 and I paid for 12 months.
The tax people say I have had 12 months car tax as my previous tax disc started in March 2006. They mentioned the person who registered the tax disc on my new car should have applied for 12 months and either 1/2/3 weeks tax to avoid this situation.
Please let everyone know about what car dealers should be doing.
I have complained to my car dealer and am awaiting an output.
Note - this only applies to newly registered card.

Did you not read the end date on the disc in the windscreen? I presume it says you current disc expires end Feb 07?
When I imported my car from Belgium I registered it with the local vehicle registration office and they explained I could buy part months as I was first doing it mid month.
