car rejection
Bought car from main dealer. When looked at car it hand little dent on door. Used car. They said if we bought they would fix.
Went to collect car week later and dent had been repaired but paint wrong colour.
Can went back in 3 times to have sorted but still wrong.
During this time I found patch of rust on car. Warranty covered this, so dealer said. Well we get dent on door done by same place who do warranty work. Seat approved bodyshop
Car came back. And was worse. Went back in again and again came back just the same.
I told dealer not happy and they said, work was done by approved bodyshop so its to a good standard.
How can 2 colours of paint. Filler marks, laquer peeling off and the door lines not being straight be good.
Told dealer and they didn't want know. So I took car to another approved seat bodyshop who said to my shock that to sort this mess would be about 1200 quid.
Sent this to dealer who still refused. So called finance company who sent a inspector.out. he said the report already done was correct and that work done on car was way below any acceptable standard.
Finace company agree car is not right and have called dealer and told them to sort it.
My question is. If dealer agrees to sort it can I ask for car to go to another bodyshop as ones who had already dine work had made pigs ear of it and don't fancy them touching it again.
Or do I have right to reject. Or ask for another car.
Car is 2009 seat ibiza. Paid 9k for it 6 months or so ago. I had reported the poor repairs on collection
What can I do. I don't fancy rejecting it as I would have hand car over and still pay for it. I wish I could just walk away but couldn't afford to get another car while this is sorted.
I need my options please asap as finaice company due to ring back tomoz with what dealer wants to do.

If you can get the finance company on side to allow it then there really is nothing the dealer can do to stop you having it done elsewhere at there own cost as they would want paying from the finance company..0

Don't quite get it.
The dealer has responsibility to ensure the car is in a good order. As do fininace company.
Finiace company are trying to help. But really don't want the crappy bodyshop to do any work on car. It's there fault I'm in this position.
Can I hand car back, ask for difference in cash, request a new car and transfer the agreement etc
Or is only option repair.0 -
anyone.
the dealer is holding firm, they say they will send car to the original reapier to carry out the work for one last time.
i have said i dont wish for these cowboys to touch my car again and want it to go to another body shop of my choice at the dealers cost.
i know they will refuse as the cost of repair are over 1100 pounds.
what hould i say when they call tomoz.0 -
call the finance company the dealer is just sending it back under paint warrenty they get from the body shop, body shop is just either 1. not doing anyhting to it other than a polish and hoping you wont notice trying to make good but the dealer is limiting the repair times to reduce labour costs etc use the finance company to tell the dealer they dont want it going back to that previous body shop.
no you cant reject the vehicle now. mechanicaly its sound, not unroadworthy. they woukld probably agree to take it back minus the mileage and depreciation and then refinance another car for you and you give them money, they get commission doing that!! it would be a good chance to sting you for being a thorn in their side for the last 9 months too.0 -
id rather keep the car then reject it.
when car was bought, after a week the car had a knock on it, it was found car needed new steering rack and arms.
anyway, they have called back today, again fobbing me off and finanice company, saying they want it to go back to original repair shop to give them oppurtunity to sort it.
finaince company said to them, no way, they had 3 chances to put it right so it goes to a new approved bodyshop.
they said they will get back to me0
