can i claim my bank charges

hi can anyone help me i have a bank been with them for many years i had an overdraft for years and it was free but not am paying 15 pound mth for £300 overdraft but i have an £350 overdraft now the are charges me somtime £31 mth sometime its £41 plus £15 pound fee :mad:if i can claim this back i hate to think how much they own me my money gos in that account i cant clear as of yet

Why was the overdraft free? Was it a promotional offer for new customers, were you a student? All these special deals are usually time-limited. Normally you pay for the money you borrow. Why do you think you ought to be still on a nil interest deal? If that special deal has expired and you are now paying the normal charges, there is nothing you can do about - you cannot claim it back.

How much is your limit, is it £300? Are you over your agreed limit when you are overdrawn by £350? There are different costs for agreed and not-agreed overdrafts.

If you refrain from dipping into your overdraft, you will not be charged interest.

rite when i had the bank account it didt cost me anythink to have an overdraft there was no charges for many years until now that am paying £15 a mth on my overdraft thats on £300 only but my limit is £350 so if i go over the £300 they charge me £1 aday so thats £31 pounds in charge and i do have money going in that acount

The newer style charges exist due to the complaints made about charges in the past. These are viewed as fairer and easier to support legally. It is ironic thought that for some people, they are more expensive than the old style charges.

By the way, it is "anything". Not "anythink"

Downgrade your account from an Ultimate Reward to a Reward account and save £15 a month.
Alternatively spend less and bring your overdraft down to less than £300 and save around £30 a month.

It still doesn't cost you anything to have the overdraft facility it only costs when you use the monies made available to you
(just like the mini-bar in a hotel room: it's free until you dig into it).

If you don't like the fees charged by your bank, find another bank which offers you cheaper rates.
Or, even simpler, do not use the bank's money (overdraft).
