lol im sick of doing the budget plan over and over, its great to see how much better off we will be but im becoming obsessive with it now which is making the wait that much longer.
  • I cant believe how slow this month is going-Im skint (8 days til pay day still :-o) So many birthdays this month; Im hiding from my sister in law as I owe her a present and I've still got my best mates and sisters birthday too.....I know how you feel! x

  • This month is going very slowly for me too. I'm constantly staring at my budget spreadsheet and hardly doing anything so I won't spend any money! Its so boring. I don't get paid again until 31st Jan and the small amount of money per month I've allowed myself to spend on going out/luxuries will be spent on my car tax - great!!

  • I'm soooo glad i'm not the only one that feels this way!! I've found myself sat on my bed and just staring at the walls. I'm feeling that bored (and a bit hopeless :() that I can't even pick up a book.

I'm now thinking about how happy i'll be when i'm out of debt and can afford hobbies and other nice things. I think i'll make an effort to read a few pages of my book tonight, now that i've seen how sad i'm becoming!! I've got a mental list of things-to-do hanging over me so I guess if I crack on with them tomorrow I should be kept busy.

I don't know where i'd be without these forums ;)

I'm supposed to be debt-free by now, but it's starting to feel like one step forward, two steps back! I do find that I can get interested in other things, like planning what meals I'm cooking and the food shopping, and exercise can take up some time. Mostly because I write detailed plans and timetables for everything... (and then don't stick to them)

  • How did the book reading go nahnahnat?

I've just started a new job having been out of work for 3 months. I want to be social and make friends at my new job but its expensive! They organise lots of social events and I keep having to turn them down as I can't afford it.

  • Hi Sparkley :) I read almost a chapter before I went to sleep so I felt quite pleased with myself. It's quite nice to know that doing something so small can make you feel that much better!

I understand how you feel about the expense of socialising. I find that when you mention an inexpensive thing to do most people aren't interested.

Today I found myself 'window shopping' online, filling my basket with things and then closing the window haha. It kept me entertained for a while and I managed to have a no spend day. Oh my, I hope this gets easier as the year goes on!

Hope you've managed to keep yourselves entertained today
