Missing e-mails

I use Outlook Express for my e-mails and I have a Norton anti-spam folder. Until recently when I got e-mails some would go into my inbox and some would go into the anti-spam folder. About a month ago I renewed my Norton Anti-virus and now when I get my e-mails it tells me that I have, say, 15 new e-mails, but only, say 9, appear in my inbox and the anti-spam folder remains empty. Can anyone explain this?

Has it been set to automatically delete Spam and not put it in your Anti-Spam older maybe?0
