lol! The site is telling me my postcode doesn't exist - only lived here for 4 years! If they can't cope with postcodes, I can't see their distribution being too hot either!

  • I've been earning my "little extra" by selling my past essays on this website - can't say I am earning a fortune, however when you are a student everything counts
  • zv12, thats a great idea! :T :T :T

I was planning to clean up my computer next week and delete my old uni staff, so thanks for your post I'll send my papers to them. Never though I can earn money in such a way!

    Thanks

  • i think you will find that anyone who 'buys' your essay, is holding themselves open to charges of plagiarism, at the very least failing the assignments and possibly being kicked off their course..how 'great'..easy way to make money maybe, but so are alot of other things that arent so legit but you probably wouldnt do those either

Also you might want to check on your University contract.

One of the many forms you sign when you first start Uni usually says something along the lines of:
"The University has the right to any works created by you whilst studying at said academic institution"

So if you create some really amazing software algorithms, mathematical equation, write a ground-breaking essay...etc....they can stake a claim to it.

So this would affect your rights to selling on any work you've produced.

Also note: My university is trailing a piece of software that scans the coursework you submit, then compares it against a database of a fair hundred thousand texts and essays to check for plagiarism.

This sounds futuristic and almost impossible to some, but its not, it works very well, I should know - I've worked on similar systems :).

i have heard of the same idea of checking work too skyhigh, also some courses now insist on you handing in notes, draught essays etc on disk..

if you do decide to go the plagiarist route and just buy your degree tho, you can pay mega bucks for assignments written to order that are only used one..personally i'd rather pass my degree and get whatever grade i actually deserve and know that it's all mine-and not just because ive paid for it!

  • I was surprised to receive such response :)

I’ve checked with my uni before selling my papers– I have copyright for all of my essays. I also spoke to my friend who is the lawyer – he told me that even though some unis make students to sign something – they can never enforce it because if they try – they would loose a battle at any court.

With regard to plagiarism – all students are warned that they should not submit somebody else’s papers. Of course, there always would be some students who will plagiarise – however it’s their own decision. I can not be held responsible for that.

No doubt that this is may be an arguable source of income for some people – however it helps me to pay rent and that is what matters to me now. At the end of the day these are my own papers and I can do whatever I want with them. Looking at the money side I would prefer to get some money from them. Isn’t reasonable?

I did the TomLocal a few years ago and after I finished I found that I earnt £1.50 an hour

Its not a bad job really (there are worse out there) and at least it does say that it'll take between 2 to 5 days on the web site - I was led to believe that I could finish in a day.

Good luck to anyone who takes this on :)

for me it's not 'arguable'...it's unethical..ok you're selling your work-it's yours to do as you see fit with, fair enough, but you cannot tell me that you think that anyone who buys your essay will be using it simply for research..

i'm speaking as a year 4 student with kids, i've got some very good grades for a large percentage of my assignments-70%+ in some cases-who has-and is struggling for money, but i would never lower myself to that

I'm not going to comment on this any further now as I dont feel I have anything further to add
