A vent and a little bit of praise for Currys

After Christmas I decided to sell on my old fat PS3 and treat myself to a nice new 320GB slim one, as I had found it for a good price at Currys. I reserved one for store collection, but a series of botches and an online order later I was eventually told that my order had been cancelled. Grr!

In the meantime, the price had shot up from £189 to £249, so their suggestion of simply reordering didn't exactly agree with me! After a lot of arguing they agreed to give me a £25 voucher towards the difference as a goodwill gesture, and I decided to buy the cheaper 160GB PS3 at £199.

When I went to pick it there was a big sign in store advertising it at £179, but at the checkout they asked for the £199 it was listed at online. Apparently they'd forgotten to take it down when the deal expired, but they decided to honour it anyway. In the end I managed to get my new PS3 for £154

So this is my vent at Currys online for being totally useless and messing up my order in the first place, a little bit of praise for the telephone CS guy that (eventually) gave me the voucher, and quite a lot of praise for the instore staff that were very helpful and didn't even argue about selling it to me for the (incorrect) price they had on the shelf.
