You know you've done something right as a parent when you hear stuff like that. :)

Hahaha! I hope you're right. I do of course have the dreaded teenage years to come, when all that may change ...

All mine have had their pocket money paid into their own bank account for a few years now, think youngest was around 9 or 10 when we started doing it that way, it was easier that way and taught them how to budget.....and made it easier for them to save.

They have to do jobs around the house to earn their money, like making a cup of tea, washing up, taking rubbish out etc.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

13 yo £30 pm paid by standing order into a co-op account. He has had a bank card since he was 11. I buy his basic clothes, he pays for everything else. Thinking about upping it to £50 and he has to buy his clothes too
