"Have you seen what this person is saing about you (tiny cc/69118)(taken a . out and replaced with a spce after tiny)
Terrible things.
like an idiot i clicked on it without thinking, computer blocked site, hoping i've done no damage! ACTUALLY, i'm hoping (desperatly) that someone is just warning me of something.

We use twitter for business purposes and unfortunately this happens quiet a lot. Not sure why people do it but certain elements of society like to try and send mail-ware, spy ware and even hack into your computer.

    Nasty.

As your computer blocked the site there should be no damage but if you are still worried just do a computer scan. It will take a few minutes but it will set your mind at rest.

Just be careful and remember that sorry to say just like face book anyone can report to be any one on twitter and don't open attachments or links from other users you don't know or trust.

    Good Luck
Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A

sounds like this person has a virus, rather than them being a spammer as they enter lots of comps. message them back asking if they know they were sending these messages out, because if they aren't, their twitter has been attacked.

i'd run a virus scan on yours just in case even though it should be fine if the computer blocked your site :)

    hth :) xxx

  • Thanks for that, i'm not brilliant on computers so the scan will have to wait till the hubby comes home as i have no idea where to even start! lol.
Have messaged them. seeing that they enter comps made me think they may of been a member on here, but haven't been able to find them through the twitter threads. xx

That once happened to me, you click on the link and they get your twitter password
Then they pass the spam message on to others from your twitter account via DM (direct message)
make sure you have now changed your password to a new one and you will be ok...

I had my twitter account hacked and only found out when a someone told me my account had sent a PM ""Have you seen what this person is saying about you"

So have since changed my password, if anyone gets any of these messages pm the owner and let them know so they can change their password.

You will find this is quite regular on Twitter. It appears when someone's account has been hacked and it then sends out multiple spurious messages to anybody following. Things to look out for, and not to click on the link, generally start with 'have you seen this picture of you' or 'have you seen what such and such has said about you'.

General rule of thumb for Twitter is the same as with emails. Don't click on any links or attachments unless you know that they are secure.

    Hope it all works out>
Thanks to all the fabulous people who post on this forum.
  • I had this message too at the weekend but from a different user account than you. I kind of thought that if someone had been saying things about me, then it would show up on my timeline as they'd be using my @username.

As everyone else had said, never click a link unless you are sure you know it's safe to do so.

Fingers crossed your computer is ok.
Thank you so much to everyone who post & help with comps! :j
