Getting rid of my car

Hi,

I am really depressed about my used car i got from a Seat Delearship. I've had it for about 1 year and 3 months. I have complained to them before about very loud creaking sounds, knocking from suspension and vibrating from steering column when on full lock.

Nothing really happened from this apart from their 'Master technician' found none of the faults (load of crap) and only replaced a suspension leg as a precaution :( Now i am just unhappy that i am still driving a faulty car around with nothing to do about it!

I have not made 1/3 of my payments yet and i was hoping of a way that i can stop paying anymore resulting in them reprosessing the car without a court order. I've even gone as far as thinking of writing of my car myself just to get rid of it even if i do injure myself.

What are my options?

This is where dealerships fall over.... They plug it into the diagnostics machine, "computer says no" and they claim there's nothing wrong. Fault probably was never relayed to the "technician", he was probably only told to "check this car over" by the idiot in the suit that took your keys.

    Which model is it?

    How old is it?

Is the car still making these noises?

Does it do it all the time?

When did they do the work you mention?

    Did it have any effect?

Did you complain at the time that the problems had not been solved?

Have you offered to drive someone around to demonstrate the problem (if it is still happening a lot)?

What have you done to prove the fault is there?? You say there is a fault they can't find it, well then take it to another garage and pay them to inspect it and give you a report. I know you shouldn't have to do this but it would be better to go back with evidence so they can't keep fobbing you off.

If you stop making payments they will take you to court. As for writing the car of yourself, that wouldn't be very wise and could end up costing you far more not to mention your own life. You could also even be facing insurance fraud charges!!

You have to be proactive here, the garage obviously think they can continue to fob you off as they have done so many times already. Atleast getting an independent inspection it will either reveal the fault and show the dealership have been fobbing you off or it will show they weren't fobbing you off and the car is fine, which may give you a bit more peace of mind.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.
