Did anyone mention, it may be worth phoning Edinburgh?
This local bike crowd have been solving that question for years
and they can post to all the UK too;

BTW, I'm in Glasgow though - so I'd try the social enterprises like :
The Common Wheel, The Glasgow Bike Station or Dan Flynn's Re-Cycle
at the Gorbals to see if they could fit me up good style with
a reconditioned model.
