Reduced price and discount voucher

Hi There,

Can someone tell me if this is correct or not...

I wanted to purchase an item which was displaying a price of £18.99 which was a £1 cheaper than its RRP. When I presented my voucher for £5.00 off, i was told by the cashier I could only have the £5.00 off of the RRP and not the displayed price of £18.99

Are they allowed to do this???

What retailer?

May be a silly question but did the voucher say something like "£5 off the recommended price"?
Maybe in the small print.

Is a copy of the voucher available online?

Hi Thanks for the reply.

It was a craft folder and it was a local independant shop. The voucher came from a magazine, ill have to check the voucher in another mag.

If that is the terms of the voucher then yes. In the same way they could say cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
