PCN with wrong date

Options
Just looking for a little advice please. I parked in a council car park and bought a ticket for 1 hour for a hospital appointment. The appointment ran over and I received a parking fine for parking after my ticket had expired. Obviously, my fault, I should have put more money in the machine. I have no issue with paying it, only the PCN had the wrong date on it. I parked on Friday (the 13th of all days) and the PCN said the 12th. If I appealed, would I need to prove that I wasn't there on the 12th? I have notes from the hospital with times and dates saying I was there on the 13th. Would the enforcement people have had to take a time and date stamped photo of my car? Thanks in advance!

I think such mistakes are fatal for a PCN, but you really need to go to www.pepipoo.com for confirmation of that, they will need to see a scan of your pcn though , front and back, just host it on https://www.photobucket.com and post it on the new thread in the council ticket section. Don't forget to scrub the section of the photo out with your personal details on
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Wrong date = cancelled PCN. Write in, point out the error and they'll have to cancel it.

@bondy lad: Op states they parked in a council car park.
  • thanks everyone, i'd been looking on pepipoo earlier and it seemed that any mistake meant i could appeal. will be writing them a nice letter :) thanks again

A fatal error by the council and they will have to cancel the PCN. Such an error is as fatal as an incorrect location. I received a PCN a good few years ago back in the days when they were written by hand and the warden had written SW2 instead of SW1 as the postcode. It was a slam dunk.

I suspect they forgot to synchronise the computer or its battery was low causing a clock reset. I've known some people not to bother synchronising theirs and carry around 3-4 days worth of PCNs that haven't been downloaded and then complain that their handheld wouldn't issue anymore PCNs. Idiots. In the world of parking, you get some strange people you really do.

I believe Tricky Wicky is Quite right. In my experience recently working in The Fixed Penalty Support Unit for the local Constabulary.
The correct date has to be put on the ticket, together with the correct number plate and signed by whoever writes out the ticket.
Without any of these the ticket should be cancelled.

Do not pay it and contact them first to explain what has happened. i.e (wrong date on ticket and you were not there)

I am certain it will have to be be cancelled.
