Hi All
I finish my IVA on the 1st April 2012 so have 2 payments of £491 left, thank god.
I was wondering if i could put my home up for sale this week with an estate agent, as by the time it sells my IVA would of finished and the legal charge removed.

Hi and well done on getting this far. Has the equity question been addressed and sorted ? The IVA isn't formally over until you get your completion certificate, but I am sure, as long as all payments due have been made, that your IP will lift the restriction once equity has been sorted.0

Hi, thanks for replying, yes the equity thing was done last September and they decided not enough was there so as long as i made my payments to April then my IVA would finish, its just my marraige is over and we are both still in the house.
Im just trying to save 2 months by getting it up for sale although i am going to chance my arm at putting it up for more with a different estate agent.
Would they find out if i put it up ?
How long after my last payment does the certificate take ?
Many thanks.0 -
Hi. Unless they are local and someone sees it in the paper they won't be told until a prospective purchaser does a search and it will appear in the results.
The certificate can take anything from a couple of weeks to up to 6 months, I am afraid.0 -
Hi FoggyBrain, my IP are in Ireland, so if a prospective purchaser come forward say, in May and i never had my certificate this would mean i could'nt sell ?0

You should be OK -- as the equity problem has already been dealt with your IP should have no further interest in the property and could remove the restriction now ( indeed he / she might already have done so). Give them a tinkle and ask.0
