Please can someone advise on router for laptop for 16 yr old

:T Please can anyone help. 
My 16 yr old daughter has been saving up for a laptop. We have a dell computer at home with broadband. We understand that we have to have an ADSL router in order for the laptop to be able to be connected to our broadband connection. We have no idea how this works and please could someone advise.
We'd like it to be a decent one, not at all sure what she would need, but not too expensive as she is on a very tight budget.

which ISP are you with at the moment, they may offer you a discount ( or supply one for free if you sign up for another 12 months)Ex forum ambassador

Make sure you check if you need ADSL (if your broadband is via phone line) or DSL (cable provider) and see this thread0

Belkin Routers are good as they have a life time warranty. When/If it breaks, phone them up and get a brand new one.0

I bought a Belkin router at Christmas and not being a technical kinda person needed their help. They were BRILLIANT - definitely recommend them.Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna get
