HSBC PPI ***please help***

Hi everyone and sorry if this is repeating any posts but this is not an easy subject to comprehend!!

My wife took out a Loan with HSBC in 2004, she then got a second loan, around 2005 in total it was 10k.

after speaking to a friend who has just claimed back PPI she thought she would see if shes entitled to it.

She has just phoned the bank and asked and they said she had taken out PPI and why did she think she was missold it!!! she replied it was the first time she had taken out a loan and didnt feel it was explained what it was correctly.

They said they would pass this on to the complaints department and someone will be in touch in 5 working days.........................

All well and good however...

What should she be thinking about now in order for the best chance of success?
Is there anything she can do in the meantime?
What will be the banks most likely course of action?

I was thinking of telling her to just go to one of the companies but am wondering if it will be easier just to hope the bank will be fair!!!!!

Please can any of you experts out there give us some guidance?

Thanks in advance
TD

Don't use any of the companies offering their services.Download this website's questionaire and do it yourself.
I did and was awarded over £6000 !
Be prepared to have patience with HSBC and I'm sure all will be sorted out. Do make sure you have all the relevant info regarding the loan and, like I said be prepared to wait but be persistent

A bank will be fair - and if it is not you can force the Financial Ombudsman to force it to be.

On the other hand, an ambulance chaser will simply send a standard letter, which may or may not be true, without telling you that is all it is doing and charge you anything up to 50% of the redress you are entitled to - always assuming it does not take an upfront fee and simply disappear.

Does that sound fair to you?
  • thanks guys for the info, we are in no rush so patience is not a problem. Is there anything she should say or avoid saying when they ring\?????
