Hfc ppi claim

I would like to put a claim in for ppi with a loan which has been paid off 3 years ago. The problem is I don't know the loan account numberand since moved house. What do I do to acquire the key docs - do I need to send a sar with proof of my change of address. I don't want to give hfc any reason to delay the response to my request.

Hi there

The bank where you paid the direct debit (loan monthly repayment) will or should have these details.

If you also bank online, this should allow you to go back a few years, the loan account number should be next to the monthly payment shown.

Or call into the branch and they should try tracking it down for you.

I would try the above steps first, and as long as you have your loan account number (the same account number normally applies for the same as the PPI number), then you can still continue to make a reclaim on the PPI, just as long as you have your reasons for being mis sold without the requirement of the SAR paperwork.

It's up to you of course though, but I would try the above steps first.

Just thought i'd let you know I sent in questionaire for ppi on hfc loan on 15/11/2011.
The claim form was received by hfc on 24/11/2011 -letter sent to me on that date from them to confirm they were looking into complaint.

Rec'd a letter 19/01/2012 confirming complaint was upheld.
offered me £1856.00 - I have returned offer letter and they said they will have funds to me in 28 days.:beer:

HFC have been very efficient and seem to be working within 8 week response.

*I am so shocked by this, we put in a claim A YEAR AGO and we still have had nothing from HFC. We've forwarded the claim on to the Ombudsman but stillllllll waiting. Congratulations to you on your success!!
